Walk and Talk with Gabrielle #2 – “That’s a Man!” (video)
While grocery shopping last Friday, another shopper looked at me and called out, “That’s a man!” I discuss the experience and pose a few related questions in this short video. Give it a look and share your thoughts!

Trans Documentary: “Line in the Sand”, Vanity and My Personal Struggle With Gender Dysphoria
Line in the Sand
This short documentary by University of Rochester student and talented filmmaker: Hayden Freedman, explores being transgender in a society that doesn’t quite understand “transgender”. Trans woman: Natalie Robin shares some of her experiences in coming out, gender roles/expectations and discusses a rather questionable suggestion from her therapist.
Also included are interviews with my friend and mentor: Jeanne Gainsburg, Education Director for the Gay Alliance, and another trans woman you may be familiar with: me.
Natalie has a YouTube channel and Tumblr blog where she shares her transition progress, thoughts and feelings. I encourage you to check out her offerings and maybe send her a little love and support in a thoughtful comment.
Painful realities that are difficult to share
Rather than rehashing what the documentary covers (and rather well, I might add), I’m going to take this opportunity to talk a little about gender dysphoria and share my personal struggle living with it.

Video: Tabling, Talking, Meeting People, Educating and Grocery Shopping
Because I felt like sharing a beautiful day and a smile
This short video was recorded a couple of days ago. A friend and I were “tabling” volunteers for the GAGV downtown Rochester at the Metro Center for SUNY Brockport during their Wellness Fair this past Wednesday (April 16, 2014).
Making new friends
This kind of volunteer work offers an excellent opportunity to meet people, converse, share, increase positive LGBTQ awareness, educate, learn and make new friends.

“Stray Shadows” – Artistic Crossdressing Themed Music Video
Gender bending, androgyny, and various forms of crossdressing are nothing new in the art of music video presentation. I was recently invited to check out a new music video for the song Stray Shadows by Blanket Barricade, a theatrical rock band from Vancouver, Canada. To my delight, the video’s visual style is anything but just another example of the often used comedic, shocking or outrageous approach.
The “Stray Shadows” music video features an artistic, tasteful, and very well-done presentation in its use of a crossdressing themed story. It artistically illustrates some of the powerful emotions and awkward moments involved in the life of many a crossdresser, along with an unexpected surprise. The song’s music is hauntingly beautiful and lead singer Wesley Krauss offers an emotionally charged performance with his accompanying vocals.

Vlog #05: feelin’ hot, busy life, questions, and an iPad 2
This is entry #5 in my vlog series. Hard to believe it’s been over a YEAR since posting my previous video! It honestly doesn’t feel like that long.
There’s been a lot going on in my life, which is why I haven’t been able to keep new content rolling out on a regular basis. I was however, able to take a little time and make this short video. I hope you’ll share a minute or two of your day with me to watch and comment. Video running time: 1 minute, 21 seconds
About the video
The video was shot on May 29, 2011 with my iPad 2, and later edited on it (mostly). The main reason for making it, besides the fact that it’s been so long since my last, was to put something out there and let people know I’m alive and well and… well, still me. Over a period of time, several people wrote to me and asked if/when I might publish another video.

Vlog #4: All Dressed Up With No Place to Go
This is entry #4 in my vlog series. It’s been a few months (about five) since my last vlog was published. My, how time flies!
Clocking in at a whopping 30 seconds in length, this is my shortest vlog to date. Sometimes less is more, and I think this is a good example. It’s short and sweet. My apologies if you were hoping for something a little longer. You can always play it again a few more times. Don’t worry, it won’t wear out.
